[vid] MFBTY Didn’t Just Drop an MV, They Gave Us a Studio Tour & Free Kareoke

If there is anything that we’ve learned about our boss, Tiger JK, he is extremely spontaneous. It’s something that has driven our staff crazy at times, but genius somehow comes out of it. So when MFBTY decided to drop the long awaited “6AM” MV live from their studio this morning, we were surprised yet glad they went out on this whim.

Fans anticipated they would just see the MV debut, but on top of getting the first glimpse of it, fans were treated to a tour of the studio. Their humble abode is filled with never ending shelves of rare LPs, a quaint recording studio, and random chatskis from their past music video shoots.

After a brief casual sing and dance to Tiger JK’s “Reset,” Tiger JK saw Bizzy regress into quiet mode. Given the MV debut centered around Bizzy, JK encourages him to take the spotlight and sing “Love & Peace” on his own. See Bizzy fully wile out at 16:40 (finally!).

[news] Full List of #MFBTYAlbum Features: RapMon, JeonInKwon, Yong JunHyung, Son SeungYun, Dok2, Windy City, EE, Dino-J

The line up for MFBTY’s album is now complete.

Feel Ghood Music announced today, March 11th, the full line up for MFBTY’s album. Previously, it was revealed JeonInKwon, BTS’ Rap Monster, Beast’s YongJunhyung, Dok2, and Son Seung Yun would feature on the album. Today, they revealed Windy City’s lead singer, Kim Ban Jang, EE, and new artist, Dino-J, will also participate, bringing together a power house team of artists. MFBTY’s mission as a project group is not to create a specific genre of music, but to create music that just feels good, at home or at a large performance. This combination of different styles will undoubtedly create a memorable album.

YunJoung Lee, from the former punk rock band Pipi Band, joined with husband, Lee HyunJoon to form EE, sometimes referred to as EETOTALART.  They combine electronic sound with artistic performances, thus their stage name. They were the first Korean artists to participate in the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, 2011. The duo represented Korea for Amnesty International’s “Peace” project that promoted human rights. More recently, the duo has been a grand success on the world music scene, receiving an invitation to the South by Southwest 2015 (SXSW), the largest music festival in the world.

Kim BanJang is a vocalist and percussionist of the band Windy City, which debuted as a member of band, Assoto Union. In 2013 , Windy City participated in the Sierra Nevada World Music, and massive music conference and festival, South by Southwest (SXSW) .

In addition to these artists, the album will feature artist and rookie Feel Ghood Music producer, Dino- J.

MFBTY debuted with a mini album, “Sweet Dream,” in 2013. They released an album under the Drunken Tiger name in 2013 called, “The Cure,” and then rebranded themselves under YoonMiRae’s name, releasing single, “Angel.” The upcoming March album marks the first official full length MFBTY album under their own name.

[news] Rapper, DOK2, Returns to Collab With Mentors; Will Feature on MFBTY Album

Tiger JK dropped a not-so-hidden secret about the latest person to feature on the MFBTY album. On March 9th, Tiger tweeted, “Thank you to all the people who helped with MFBTY’s debut album!” Dok2 retweeted it with an emoticon similar to a bow gesture. Tiger then replied,  “Don’t be a spoiler, brother,” hinting to fans that Dok2 did some sort of collaboration with them. We have confirmed that Dok2 will feature on the album.

Dok2 and Tiger JK have a friendship that dates back to 2006, when Dok2 was still a (very) young rapper coming up. Dok2 and then partner, Microdot, formed a duo called AllBlack. They became part of The Movement Crew, a collaboration of underground hip-hop artists led by Drunken Tiger. Dok2 was already a well seasoned  artist, and soon became a producer and frequent feature for Drunken Tiger.

The last time the two collaborated was for Dok2’s song, “Flow To Flow.” Dok2’s return to the MFBTY album marks 4 years since the two have recorded together.

Dok2 is currently the co-founder of 1LLIONAIRE RECORDS, which houses himself, The Quiett, and Beenzino. It is one of the most successful Korean hip-hop labels.
