[news] Tiger JK and Tasha to be on Ameriie’s new album; Ameriie features on Tasha’s in return

Fresh off her marriage to former manager, Lenny Nicholson, singer Ameriie headed straight for the studio upon her return to the US. In an exclusive with Billboard’s The Juice, Ameriie leaked news of her collaborating with Korea’s “Jay-Z and Beyonce,” for her fifth album. “Cymatika Vol 1.”

On the last album you collaborated with Trey SongzFabolous, andLil Wayne. Any collaborations this time around?

I did a Korean version of “Outside Your Body” [her current single]with Drunken Tiger‘s (Korean/American hip-hop group) member, [Tiger] JK and his wife (Tasha Reid). Those are my collaborations. JK is like the Korean Jay-Z. She’s (Tasha) also a rapper. They’re both amazing. I’m doing a record or two for Tasha’s upcoming album. I haven’t done it yet, and she’s probably going to kill me because I’ve been running around doing so much.

Her new album is scheduled for release in Summer 2012.

[vid] Welcome To The Jungle Ep. 1 & 2 (for all the international fans!)

So after repeated requests from fans outside of Korea, I had to leak the episode. Unfortunately, I haven’t found anyone who could sub it. If a subbed version comes out, I will definitely post it!

NOTE: You will need the Veoh Player plugin for your browser or download the VeohPlayer on to your computer. YouTube has a 10 minute limit and right now no one has split the episode for view on YouTube.

Thanks to the producers at TVN (the network airing the “Welcome to the Jungle” special), we have a teaser of one of the album’s title songs.

The song, “My Time,” was recorded and filmed last June during a trip to Los Angeles. The video reveals that Styliztik Jones, Roscoe, and Rakaa also will feature.

The music video was directed by veteran Drunken Tiger MV director, Dave Kebo (“Great Rebirth,” and “I Hate Myself.”)

The song will debut when the special airs, along with another track, “On and On.” Just one day left!

Thanks to one of show’s producers, photos from the Welcome to the Jungle reality special were leaked via his twitter page. Looks like we’ll see clips from the music video shoot, their trip to NY, and JK tweeting from abroad (ha!).

The special will be aired on TVN, February 15th, at 10pm (Korea time).

  • The title song is called “Get Down” (thanks Wikipedia leak).
  • Looks like hip-hop producer !llMind took part of the production judging from his tweets (production credits include Eminem, LL Cool J, Kweli, and 50 Cent)
  • the project is geared to be “international friendly,” meaning English songs
