[video] Fans Come Together To Wish Yoon MiRae a Special Birthday Wish

We at Drunken Tiger International, Drunken Tiger Brasil, and BizzyBTBT want to wish our sis, Yoon MiRae, a Happy Birthday today! As our gift to her, we polled our followers on how they would describe Yoon MiRae in one word. Our followers were told they would receive a special prize by participating, but were not aware of the bigger project in the works. This was the result (and the prize they were all vying for!). Congrats! Now your love for MiRae will be seen for sure. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Happy #YoonMiRaeDay!

After almost a 6-month hiatus, MFBTY is back as a feature in new artist, Yuna Kim’s debut track, “Without You Now.” The video tells a story of a talented girl sprouting her wings as she discovers her own talent, while the lyrics focus on her shedding the weight of those who held her back.

We’re back, folks.

[news] Superstar K’s Euna Kim releases project album produced by MFBTY

Image

On May 23rd, former Superstar K contestant, Euna Kim, will release her first album, which was produced by MFBTY.

On May 19th, Kim’s label, Music K Entertainment, announced that the project album “Love Me Love,” will be released on the May 23rd. Tiger JK stated that upon hearing Euna Kim rap, he requested to be her mentor and came up with the project album idea. MFBTY gave Kim an abundance of support and featured on her title track “이젠 너 없어도 (Without You Now).”

The Music Video is said to be of a dramatic, movie like concept where a timid & shy girl performs in front of a large crowd, showing her hidden talent and dancing with her wings. Tiger JK, Yoon MiRae and Bizzy feature as cameos in the music video clip, which was produced by producer Lumpens, who has also worked with Lee Hyo Ri and the legendary Jo Yong Pil. With the star studded line up along with a visually creative producer, it is anticipated to be a huge hit.

Tiger JK praised Euna Kim by saying that he really wanted to work with her musically, and that Euna Kim reminded him of a younger Yoon MiRae. Yoon MiRae also praised her saying, “There are infinite possibilities with Euna, I’ve been watching her very closely ever since I was on the judging panel on Super Star K.”

“이젠 너 없이도 –  Without You Now,” is a song which depicts couples that have been together for a long time whom continue on a cycle of meeting, breaking up, and making up. The song also expresses disappointment each other as time goes by in a candid way. Produced, directed and composed by Tiger JK, “Without You Now,” contrasts Euna Kim’s unique rapping along with the melodic, sentimental voice of Yoon MiRae.

The project album, “Love Me Love,” will be released in all major online music stores on May 23rd at 12PM. Music K Entertainment will released a teaser of the music video on the 20th via their YouTube channel.

Early April 16th morning, Feel Ghood Music posted this photo with the below message.

We’re not sure what our trio is up to (who is that girl next to Bizzy and [see update] what is up with the afro?), but could it be related to all that Adidas gear they’re donning?

[update] We have strong reason to believe YooNa Kim was a contestant on SuperstarK 3, a show that Yoon MiRae served as judge.

Friends and Fans Come Together for Massive Birthday Card for Bizzy (Happy Birthday, B!)

Image

Over the past few weeks, all three international MFBTY fanbases (DrunkenCamp.com, DrunkenTiger Brasil, and BizzyBTBT) have been secretly planning a massive birthday gift for Bizzy. Limited by distance and funds, planning a great birthday gift posed a challenge. However, we pooled together our sources to create a massive video e-card signed by Bizzy’s fans, friends, and celeb colleagues.

We searched through our Twitter followers and Facebook friends, selecting active fans at random to write a wish. We further reached out to Feel Ghood/Drunken Tiger fam that we knew, and the enthusiasm from both fans and friends was amazing. Amongst the respondents are MFBTY DJ Smells, Sean2Slow, Insane Deegie, Styliztik Jones, Ann, and Kim Jo Han.

We thank EVERYONE who submitted wishes. For those who sent in photos, pay attention to the background of your wish. We made it more personalized and special!

Bizzy, we know you’re reading this, so I hope you enjoy this gift from us. Have an AMAZING day today. We love you!

R.I.P. Suh Byung Hoo, Tiger JK’s father

Image

It is with great sadness that I must write that Tiger JK’s father, Suh Byung Hoo, passed away today at 4pm. Feel Ghood Music stated that he passed away in his UiJeongBu home, with JK and Tasha watching over him.

Mr. Suh, 72, was battling lung cancer since he was diagnosed in July 2013.

He was more affectionately known to fans as “G-pa,” short for grandpa, and reference to his relationship to grandson, Jordan. While G-pa was well-known to many music professionals, he became a Drunken Tiger fan favorite once he created his Twitter account, SmilinGrandaddy.

Mr. Suh was an inspiration to many. He graduated with a degree in Economics from Korea’s top university, Seoul National University. In 1968, he worked as a journalist at Kyunghyang Newspaper, writing about both Western and Korean pop. In 1978, he started working at Joong-Ang News and was the head writer of the music column. From 1981 to 1996, he was a correspondent for Billboard Magazine. He is credited as the country’s first pop columnist and the first person to introduce Korean music into a Western publication.

Even in his later years, he was always listening to music, old and new, and utilized social media sites such as Twitter to communicate with people worldwide. He was not afraid to interact with others, and openly shared his opinions on various topics. He was a well-liked gentleman. Fans took a special liking to him because of his sociability, humor, and genuine care for others. On paper, he was the Chief Advisor to the Feel Ghood label, but he enjoyed giving guidance to anyone who asked.

Tiger JK, who had a very strong bond with his father, released an album after a 4 year and 3 months hiatus aptly titled “살자 – salja – Let’s Live/The Cure.” Tiger JK dedicated the title track, appropriately named the same as the album, to his father. The title track contains positive messages telling listeners that all things under the sun are your friends and they are protecting you.

Mr Suh showed dedication to the Korean Martial art of Taekwondo. He worked as an Editor of World Taekwondo, an international English Taekwondo Federation magazine, while also working as a General Managing Editor for “음악세계 –Music World” magazine.

Additionally, he was well known in the Buddhist community. He had a significant interest in Tantric Buddihism and held office in Shakyamuni Buddhist Center Sininjong, Vajrayana Buddhism. He lived at a Buddhist temple hidden in the Korean mountains in the later years of his life.

Finally, Mr. Suh was a teacher at heart. He published a number of books on Buddhism and gave occasional lectures on music.

The wake is being held at Korea Cancer Center Hospital in Nowon, Seoul, and the funeral will conclude on the 3rd at 9:30 AM KST.

My greatest condolences go out to my Drunken Tiger/MFBTY fam as they go through this difficult time. Father, grandfather, writer, teacher, intellectual, pioneer, friend. Rest in peace, G-Pa.

[video] In case you missed it: MFBTY interview on MNET’s Danny in LA

During their week in LA, MFBTY stopped by MNET’s “Danny From LA” for a brief chat with hosts, Danny Im and Dumbfoundead. Danny and Tiger reminisce about when they were both performing in the 90s (Danny when he was in 1TYM, Tiger JK as part of the group, Drunken Tiger). The two were ironically intimidated by each other. For the impatient, you can fast forward to 17:40 to get straight into the interview.

P.S. The intro segment of Dumbfoundead trying to teach Danny how to rap is classic.

Early Tuesday morning, Tiger JK tweeted about the release of a “Best” album. Unfortunately, the album was not actually released by his current label, Feel Ghood Music. Fans are free to obtain the album if they’d like, but should be aware the proceeds for the album do not go to Feel Ghood.

[photos] Shots from first live performance of “The Cure”

On October 3rd, Tiger JK, Yoon MiRae, and Bizzy had their TV debut of “The Cure,” courtesy of MBC. Contrary to their usual highly energetic set, “The Cure” live set comprises of the 3 performing behind standing mics, a first in DT history. Of course, the crowd was treated to older high energy classics, such as “Get It In,” “Good Life,” and “I Want You.” However, as always with any DT performance, expect the unexpected. JK breaks through the audience barrier and performs the song while walking through the crowd and then ending “Get It In” with him relaxing on the moving camera wheelie. See photos/video below.

P.S. My camera went out during “The Cure,” so unfortunately I don’t have the full footage! Fans will have to wait until the broadcast is released.

[news] MFBTY leaves Jungle Entertainment; Tiger JK starts new label “FeelGhood Music”

Image

In January 2013, Tiger JK, Yoon MiRae, and Bizzy formed the trio group MFBTY. The three have been separate acts technically, but had performed usually together. The three performers had been signed to Jungle Entertainment, originally founded by Tiger JK and his father, Suh Byung Hoo, since its establishment in 2006. However, on July 21st, Tiger JK announced on his Twitter account that all he had left the label. Yoon MiRae and Bizzy soon followed celebrating a new start.

Image

Questions have arose regarding the mysterious “Prison Break” photo attached to the tweet and why Tiger JK would leave his label. Not much information has been released other than a source of ours stating “reasons related to business practices recently unearthed.”

JK’s new label is affectionately named after Tiger JK’s 8th album, “Feel Ghood Musik.” JK’s father has officially been named the label’s Chief Advisor. MFBTY plans to release a new single within the next few months, along with a music video produced by “Get It In” directors, Lumpens. The producers released an exclusive animated video to promote the new label.

For further updates, fans are encouraged to continue following this site along with Tiger’s active fanbases (TigerBalm Korea, Drunken Tiger Brasil). Also, a recently opened FeelGhood Music facebook page is continuously releasing new media.

[UPDATE 07/23 11:05AM] The official FeelGood Music label site has just opened.
