[news] Rapper, DOK2, Returns to Collab With Mentors; Will Feature on MFBTY Album

Tiger JK dropped a not-so-hidden secret about the latest person to feature on the MFBTY album. On March 9th, Tiger tweeted, “Thank you to all the people who helped with MFBTY’s debut album!” Dok2 retweeted it with an emoticon similar to a bow gesture. Tiger then replied,  “Don’t be a spoiler, brother,” hinting to fans that Dok2 did some sort of collaboration with them. We have confirmed that Dok2 will feature on the album.

Dok2 and Tiger JK have a friendship that dates back to 2006, when Dok2 was still a (very) young rapper coming up. Dok2 and then partner, Microdot, formed a duo called AllBlack. They became part of The Movement Crew, a collaboration of underground hip-hop artists led by Drunken Tiger. Dok2 was already a well seasoned  artist, and soon became a producer and frequent feature for Drunken Tiger.

The last time the two collaborated was for Dok2’s song, “Flow To Flow.” Dok2’s return to the MFBTY album marks 4 years since the two have recorded together.

Dok2 is currently the co-founder of 1LLIONAIRE RECORDS, which houses himself, The Quiett, and Beenzino. It is one of the most successful Korean hip-hop labels.

[full details] Tiger JK, Yoon Mi Rae, Bizzy (MFBTY) comeback finalized for March 19th

MFBTY, a project group comprised of Korean Hip Hop legends, Tiger JK, Yoon Mi Rae and Bizzy, have confirmed they will be supplying their fans with new music after just over 18 months since their previous mini album “The Cure” was released (under the Drunken Tiger name).

Tiger JK has confirmed that they will be releasing their first full album on March 19th, 2015, and returning to the stages, which was very welcome news for their fans all around the world. On this album, it is expected to have a strong line up from all genres of Korean music scenes. One confirmed collaboration is with Korean Idol group BTS leader Rap Monster, who has been seen hanging out with MFBTY in their offices recently.

MFBTY, which is an acronym for My Fans Better Than Yours, was created back in 2013 by Tiger JK, Yoon Mi Rae and Bizzy. They created this group so they could produce music that they love to perform on stage. MFBTY has been stirring buzz by releasing several hits with soulful vocals and addictive melodies as well as experimental tracks which combines hip hop, electronic, and progressive sounds into one. Their focus is to create feel-good music for themselves as well as their fans.

MFBTY has repeatedly proved their worth by topping the charts with their debut single, “Sweet Dream,” as well as the mini album title track “살자 – The Cure.” Yoon Mi Rae also released a solo track featuring the other MFBTY members (Tiger JK, Bizzy) last December – Angel, which also got the number one spot in several music charts in Korea. Their debut single, “Sweet Dream,” in particular gathered worldwide attention with its visually stunning music video produced by their creative director, Lumpens. US Billboard also mentioned the group in their articles, once again proving their presence around the world.

MFBTY also represented Korea in the world’s biggest music market festival MIDEM in France (2013). MIDEM representative, Bruno Crolet, highly praised MFBTY, stating that he had never seen Asian music performers be able to reach a Caucasian crowd and get them to put their hands up and be one with them, He dubbed it “the best performance at MIDEM.” Crolet also tweeted an article mentioning MFBTY showing his support and respect towards the group.

MFBTY is under their own record label, Feel Ghood Music. Apart from MFBTY themselves, there is also an electronic DJ, art directors, visual directors as well as other professionals who are signed under Feel Ghood Music, making them a versatile and unique record label. Their vision is to continuously evolve into a label that focuses on music as well as other parts of the culture. Feel Ghood Music had a great end of the year with Yoon Mi Rae’s single track, “Angel,” topping all charts.

[news] Tiger JK Offers Fans The Opportunity To Be On The Next Album

19426_1007779172568880_7699780317092849006_nPeople have been trying to collaborate with Tiger JK for as long as we could remember. In an ironic twist, Tiger opened up the doors and is now asking anyone, musically inclined or not, to submit soundbites to him that he can include in what appears to be an MFBTY album. The main requirement is for the person to send a greeting or saying MFBTY in their own native tongue. Cursing, joking, laughing, and other “actions” allowed. He gave no time restraint, but we can imagine it needs to be only a few seconds (15-30 max). A phone recording is fine, but make sure you’re clearly audible. If you’d like to participate, send your soundbite to mfbty@feelghood.com asap.

In a related story, videographer, Lumpenss, posted this below photo of MFBTY sitting with BTS’s, Kim Nam Joon, in the Feel Ghood Music studio. We’re not sure what it means, but we’re interested how this potential collab will work.
